Global firm White & Case has signed up partners Aaron Kenavan and Jamie Palmer to strengthen its M&A and private equity practice in the Asia-Pacific region.
Daniel Yeh, partner and co-head of the global private equity industry group at White & Case, said: “The Asia-Pacific region continues to be a strategic priority for many of our private capital clients across our global network and, with a renewed focus on diversification of investment strategies and geographic penetration, Australia remains a compelling proposition in conjunction with increasing efforts by Australia-based alternatives investors to strengthen their connections globally.”
Kenavan and Palmer, both joining from A&O Shearman, bring more than 45 years of combined experience across diverse industries to the Sydney office.
A specialist in Australian and cross-border corporate transactions, Kenavan has worked on public takeovers and M&A in sectors such as consumer goods, energy, mining, infrastructure and technology. He was a founding partner of A&O Shearman’s Australian operations and led its corporate practice. Kenavan’s work includes advising Dexus on its AUD15 billion (USD9.7 billion) merger with a global investment manager’s subsidiary. He also advised Asahi on its AUD16 billion acquisition of Carlton & United Breweries from Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Palmer advises on private equity, infrastructure and pension fund transactions. His experience includes advising Crescent Capital on multiple transactions, such as the sale of PRP Radiology to IFM Investors and the sale of Nucleus Networks to Blackstone. He also advised Equinix on its AUD1.35 billion acquisition of Metronode, a major data centre operator in Australia.
