Introduction

Danny E Bunyi is a senior partner at DivinaLaw with more than 30 years of legal experience in a wide range of areas including corporate law, banking and finance, M&As, cross-border transactions, as well as commercial contract drafting and review.

Prior to joining DivinaLaw, Danny was senior vice president and corporate secretary for the Development Bank of the Philippines, one of the largest government-owned banks in the country. He is a lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University John Gokongwei School of Management where he teaches corporation and partnerships law. He also teaches the history and administration of trusts, donations, wills and succession at the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines. He obtained his bachelor of science in business management majoring in legal management degree and a bachelor of laws degree from Ateneo de Manila University.

His work in servicing the firm’s clients has led to multiple awards in banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, private equity and venture capital. He was recognised as a commended external counsel of the year in 2019 and 2021 by In-House Community. He was honoured as one of the Philippines client choice lawyers by Asian Legal Business for 2021 and 2022. He was also named among Asia Business Law Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in the Philippines in 2021.
