In the largest Chinese acquisition of a German company to date, Beijing Enterprises Holdings has bought German waste management operator, EEW Energy from Waste, in a move to take ownership of the company’s valuable expertise and technology.
Beijing Enterprises acquired the 100% shareholding of EEW from the Swedish private equity fund EQT for about €1.44 billion (US$1.5 billion), and the transaction subject to clearance by Germany’s Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
