Introduction

Matthew Ching is a partner at Jingtian & Gongcheng, specializing in the areas of asset-backed securitisation and asset management.

Ching is assessed as a legal expert by the Insurance Asset Management Association of China. He is also a member of the venture capital committee of the Investment Association of China, and the fund research committee of the Shanghai Lawyers Association. He has been teaching asset management courses in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Xin Zejin, China Law Education and Training Centre, and the Finance Supervision and Research Institute, as well as other institutions, for a long time.

In recent years, Ching has been highly recommended by Legalband continually as a leading individual in the field of securitisation and derivatives in China. In 2017, he was rated as A Rising Star by International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000); in 2018, he was highly rated by Legalband as one of the China Top 10 Lawyers in the field of Asset Management; in 2019, he was on IFLR1000’s Recommendation List in the fields of investment funds, private equity and derivatives, structed finance and securitisation; in 2020, he was highly recommended by Legalband as one of the Best Lawyers for Asset-Backed Securitisation and Derivatives, and was rated as the Man of the Year in Real Estate Securitisation by a well-known domestic summit forum.
