The annual WILL Summit 2018: Women, Intelligence & Robotics was held on 15 March at the RACE (Robotics Application Centre of Excellence) Academy in Singapore.

Specifically targeted to appeal to female in-house counsel, the event was part of the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association’s (SCCA) efforts to inform in-house lawyers about rapid changes in the business world that affect the in-house community, and was held during International Women’s Week.

Leading females in technology-driven companies and organizations led discussions, and a tour of RACE Academy was arranged.

Isa Nassar, the academic manager for RACE Academy, shared insights into the future of innovation in Singapore and the growing application of artificial intelligence (AI) in prominent companies worldwide.

The panel discussion on key issues on the implementation and viability technologies featured Preeti Dubey from Strive High, Silvia Checco from Blue Stream Consultancy, Dessi Silasse from IHS Markit, Jasmine Karimi from Illumina, Yemi Te’pe’ from Morrison & Foerster, and Dr Tanvi Gautam from Leadershift.

“Everyone is building the aircraft as they are flying it. This field of knowledge is evolving every single day. As such, don’t let knowledge gaps intimidate you,” said Gautum.

SCCA hopes the annual summit will introduce more lawyers to the future of commercial and corporate business and allow them to take advantage of fledging technologies as a means of furthering their corporate interests.

The event was sponsored by Ashurst, Epiq Global, LexisNexis, Rajah & Tann Asia and Yerra Solutions.
