The primary capital markets in the Philippines were shut for the most part for the year, except for one successful initial public offering (IPO) in June. The secondary market has seen a number of deals, and some pretty large ones too.
Some of the most notable of them include: Bank of the Philippine Islands’ US$2 billion Medium Term Note Programme and US$943 million rights offering, Metropolitan Bank & Trust’s US$1.1 billion rights offering; Robinson Land’s US$377 million offering of rights; and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) US$283 million rights offering.
