Kochhar reconnects with old colleague
Rajarshi Chakrabarti has re-joined Kochhar & Co as a senior partner and head of the Mumbai office. Chakrabarti has merged his practice of Lumen Partners, a firm he founded, with Kochhar & Co.
He previously worked as an in-house counsel with Bennett Coleman & Co and Vodafone India. In this capacity, he advised senior management on high-stakes and complex matters including business restructuring, corporate governance issues, regulatory risks and mitigation measures.
“Raj spent almost 12 years with our firm, and we are pleased to welcome him back,” said Kochhar & Co chairman Rohit Kochhar.
PE lawyer returns to IndusLaw
IndusLaw has hired Rashi Saraf as a partner in its Bengaluru office. Saraf joins from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she was a principal associate. She has 10 years of experience in private equity and venture capital transactions.
Saraf has advised on various cross-border and domestic transactions in various sectors including healthcare, education, real estate, e-commerce and information technology. “It is nice to welcome back someone who was part of the firm’s initial years,” said IndusLaw founding partner Suneeth Katarki. “She is familiar with the firm, the culture and the team, and I am sure she will fit right back in.” Saraf previously worked at IndusLaw as an associate.
