Isle of Man corporate law firm Cains announced in November that it plans to open an Asia-Pacific regional office in Singapore by July 2008. Cains has worked with London and Indian-based advisers to help Indian companies and investment funds secure Alternative Investment Market (AIM) listings in London.

The Isle of Man, located halfway between England and Ireland, enjoys an AAA rating and zero corporation tax.

A Cains director, Mike Edwards, described Singapore as establishing itself as Asia’s financial hub and a gateway to emerging global markets. He hopes to use the new office to promote the advantages of incorporation in the Isle of Man.
