Introduction

Jay Li is a senior partner of Hylands Law Firm. His law practice concentrates on the areas of capital markets, M&A, private equity and investment funds, entertainment and media and the internet. Li has been successively given the honour of 2015 & 2016 LegalBand China 30, and he has the qualification of Independent Director of Listed Companies from the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the qualification of M&A trader from the China M&A Association. Li is a member of the foreign lawyer talent pool of the Beijing Lawyers Association selected in 2020.

Li obtained his LL.B degree from the China University of Political Science and Law and his LL.M degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Jay Li has worked at the Jingtian & Gongcheng Law Firm, the Mayer Brown JSM Beijing Representative Office and the Jingsh Law Firm. At present, Li is a senior partner of the Hylands Law Firm, and he is also a part-time tutor at the Graduate School of China University of Political Science and Law.

Li focuses on capital markets legal matters in the following areas, compliance of enterprises, restructuring and reconstruction of enterprises, domestic and foreign private equity funds, investment, M&A, and IPO. He provides legal services to domestic and foreign enterprises in such industries as energy and natural resources, real estate and infrastructure, finance, pharmaceuticals, technology, retail, catering, tourism and hospitality, and media and entertainment.
