Introduction

Yang Jie graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and is a law practitioner in the field of the internet with over one decade of working experience. Now Yang is the youngest senior partner in Wang Jing & GH Law Firm.

With his internet mindset and comprehensive problem-solving ability acquired via working experience with internet enterprises for many years, Yang can deeply understand the sore points of clients in the internet industry. He always insists on the principles of specialisation and differentiation, strives to properly combine legal professional services with customers’ commercial purposes, and finally comes up with a comprehensive and feasible solution from the perspective of clients. Therefore, more and more clients have chosen to co-operate with his team.

Yang continues to create value for clients with professional and high-quality legal services, and is highly praised by clients and peers. He also holds positions as director of the professional committee of electronic sports and online games at the Guangzhou Lawyers Association, a legal aid expert with the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Rights Protection Assistance Centre, a young expert of the China Internet Association, and an expert of the Guangdong Entertainment & Game Industry Association.

Yang has provided a number of internet enterprises with comprehensive legal services, including but not limited to equity structure design of the company, information security, digital product compliance, secrecy system, non-competition, etc. He has also handled legal affairs including investment, financing and data governance for clients in the field of digital economy. In the past five years, Yang led his team to accomplish a number of projects including the compliance assessment of live broadcasting products of Tencent, the legal risk assessment of digital entertainment products of Alibaba Group, and a compliance assessment about voice live-streaming products that go abroad to the Middle East, the US and EU.

Since the founding of a legal team specialising in serving internet companies, Yang and his team have won several awards, such as: Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal (2020); China’s Excellent Team on Intellectual Property Litigation (field of unfair competition); Business Achievement Award; and Theoretical Achievement Award. In addition, Yang led the team to publish two books on legal practice in 2019 and 2020 – Compliance Guide to Online Game Companies and Adjudicatory Opinions in the Typical Cases of Network Games – which were widely praised by the industry.
