Introduction

Xu Mo’s practising areas are capital markets, private equity fund formation and investments, M&A, and real estate. Xu has accumulated extensive project experience in the above areas. With broad knowledge of the legal regimes of the PRC and US, excellent communication skills, and extensive work experience in Shanghai, Beijing and Seattle, Xu offers practical legal and commercial strategies in assisting clients regarding establishing, operating, expanding, restructuring, splitting up and dissolving their China-related business, and helps them to comply with the complex legal and regulatory environment.

As the lead lawyer in many major deals, he counsels clients in all stages of transactions, from initial planning through final closing, many of which were subject to complicated government approvals and involved state-owned asset transfer or cross-border deal structuring. Xu represents clients in diverse industry sectors including, but not limited to, private equity funds, investment banking, IT, high tech, pharmaceutical, sports, healthcare, catering, hotel management, energy, theme parks, chemicals, logistics, real estate, games and automobile.

“The dignity of law and the splendor of human nature it defends are the pursuits of a legal professional”, is the motto to which Xu adheres. Apart from work, he actively participates in public service and legal aid activities. He has represented Zhong Lun in symposiums on the revision of new laws and regulations held by the Ministry of Commerce and other ministries and commissions multiple times, and has been writing the foreign investment chapter of the World Bank’s book, Doing Business in China, for many years. He also served to prepare for the establishment of the Informatisation Commission of Shanghai Bar Association, and has participated in the writing and editing of Su Longfei’s book, Equity War, and other books.
