Introduction

Wang Yu’s practice mainly focuses on M&A, private equity, foreign direct investment and general corporate. Before joining AnJie, he worked for leading domestic and international law firms for almost 10 years, where he accumulated extensive legal practice experience. Wang represents various private equity firms, including funds denominated in US dollars and Renminbi, in their investment or divestment activities with respect to portfolios inside or outside of China, and has also assisted enterprises at different stages including start-ups, growth or pre-IPO phases, in their financing involving equity, convertible bonds, warrants and other financing structures. In addition to the legal practice related to financial investment, Wang has also represented domestic and international industrial investors to carry out M&A, restructuring and joint ventures for their strategic objectives, such as industrial integration, expansion or synergisation, and assisted with the structuring and implementation of the commercial co-operation associated with such strategic objectives.

Clients represented by Wang are from a diversity of industries including traditional manufacturing industries such as equipment manufacturing, precision machining and new energy automotive production, as well as new economy and consumption including, without limitation, technology, media and telecoms, culture and communication, training and education, medical and healthcare, commercial retail, and food and beverage service.

Wang has a sound understanding of the operation logic of the business world, which enables him to accurately capture the commercial appeal from transnational parties on different sides and, therefore, provide efficient legal solutions with flexible commercial feasibility. Given his abundant experience and excellent professionalism, Wang has been highly recognised for his practice in the area of M&A by various legal rating agencies such as The Legal 500 and LEGALBAND, and one of his cases was listed in “Deals of the Year 2020” by China Business Law Journal.
