Introduction

Wang Liyan’s practice focuses on dispute resolution in areas of law such as IP and competition, TMT, data & cybersecurity, culture & entertainment. Some of her notable representations are as follows: She successfully represented well-known author Chiung Yao in a copyright infringement case regarding her book and TV series, The Plum Blossom Scar, against Yu Zheng, producer of the TV series The Palace: The Lost Daughter; she successfully represented SINA against IFENG in a highly publicised matter regarding infringement of the rights of a live sports event involving the Chinese Football Association Super League (retrial); she represented New Classics Media in a trade secret dispute regarding the film Wu Kong; she successfully defended director Kaige Chen and New Classics Media in a copyright infringement case; and she served as legal counsel for famous artist Kris Wu in a contractual dispute against his talent agency, achieving a satisfactory result.
