Introduction

Wendy Yan helps clients grow their businesses across the border. She has extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, technology transfers, venture capital, private equity and general corporate counseling, and various inbound and outbound investments related to China. Her Chinese inbound experience includes representing multinational companies and private equity investors in the acquisition of Chinese businesses, representing multinational companies in forming and operating wholly foreign-owned and joint venture enterprises in China and representing venture capital/private equity investors and technology companies in numerous equity financing transactions related to China businesses. Her Chinese outbound experience includes representing famous Chinese companies in their overseas acquisitions and other investment projects.

Wendy Yan is particularly experienced in advising clients in industries such as media and entertainment, chemicals, energy, technology, automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, real estate, construction.

She was included into The A-List of China Business Law Journal as one of the elite 100 lawyers at foreign firms in China for 2021 and 2022; the China practice team, under Yan’s direction, won the Outstanding Foreign Law Firm award, Industrial & Manufacturing sector Industrial & Manufacturing sector (2020-2021) under China Business Law Awards; and was recognised in 40 Under 40 Awards, Legal Advisor category by M&A Advisor in 2014.
