Introduction
Eric Chow is the founding Partner of Eric Chow & Co. in association with Commerce & Finance Law Offices.
Chow’s practice focuses on corporate finance transactions including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, Hong Kong listing rules compliance matters and other commercial transactions. Chow has more than 15 years of experience advising multinational, PRC and Hong Kong-based enterprises and investment banks on a wide range of corporate finance transactions.
Chow has participated in many large-scale capital markets transactions in Hong Kong, including the USD322 million IPO of Zhou Hei Ya International, one of the largest food company listings in Hong Kong since 2016, the USD948 million IPO of Bank of Tianjin Co, Ltd and the USD9.2 billion rights issue of China Construction Bank, one of the largest rights issues by an Asian issuer.
Chow was also seconded to Morgan Stanley’s Legal & Compliance Department in 2014-15, during which he mainly focused on the transactions in the Global Capital Markets/Investment Banking Department. Prior to joining Commerce & Finance, Chow practiced law with a leading US law firm in Hong Kong.
Chow was recognised as “40 under 40” 2021 and shortlisted as “Managing Partner of the Year” 2022 by Asian Legal Business (ALB). He is qualified to practise Hong Kong law, and PRC law (civil and commercial legal matters) in nine Pearl River Delta municipalities of the Greater Bay Area.
