Independent Thai law firm AWP & Alliance has merged with JTJB International Lawyers, creating a combined entity with five partners and more than 30 staff under the JTJB flag.

JTJB International Lawyers, a Bangkok office of Singapore’s JTJB, was established in 2005, and initially focused on litigation and international commercial arbitration. Since then, it has grown to become a full-service law firm led by managing partner Naiyachon Tathong and partner Bunnasomboon Chaiparinya.

“Essentially, the merger combines two highly successful mid-sized law firms, similar in size, culture and philosophy, with complementary practice strength and long-term objectives,” said Tathong.

“As such, the leadership of both firms is excited by the possibility and the future presented by the merger, and we eagerly look forward to the opportunity to grow and deepen our relationships with our clients.”

AWP & Alliance was founded in 2002 by Apisith John Sutham as Apisith & Alliance, then changed its name after Sutham joined another Thai law firm Weerawong Chinnavat & Partners in 2021 as a counsel.

Following the merger, Sutham keeps his role at Weerawong Chinnavat & Partners, while also being a consultant at JTJB International Lawyers.

Meanwhile, AWP & Alliance’s former senior partner Pattaravadee Kongcharoenniwat and partner Wiyadathawin Luenchavee became partners at JTJB International Lawyers in the IP and corporate practices, respectively.

Kongcharoenniwat has extensive experience advising clients in all areas of IP law, including trademark registration and prosecution, as well as patent and patent design filings in Thailand and abroad.

Luenchavee focuses on corporate and commercial laws, foreign direct investment, capital markets and securities, public company laws and regulations and taxation.
