Guantao Law Firm has recently opened an office in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, marking its third branch in Central Asia after Almaty and Dushanbe, which strengthens its capabilities in cross-border trade and investment services.
The Beijing-headquartered firm now operates 37 offices globally, comprising 30 across Greater China and seven overseas.
The Tashkent office, led by executive director Hu Jingkun, advises on cross-border investment, commercial dispute resolution, compliance review and foreign law verification, supporting Chinese enterprises investing in Uzbekistan and Uzbek companies expanding into China.
At the opening ceremony, Yang Tianbin, managing partner and head of Guantao’s Urumqi office, said the Tashkent office would co-operate closely with the Urumqi branch and the firm’s Central Asia Legal Service Centre to further expand its regional presence.
Tashkent, the political, economic and cultural centre of Uzbekistan, is the most populous city in Central Asia.
Guantao joins a growing list of Chinese law firms that have established offices in Tashkent, including Duan & Duan Law Firm (2018), Yingke Law Firm (2019), Hengdu Law Offices (2024), Winteam500 Law Group (2024) and Grandall Law Firm (2025).
