Jeremiah Huang has established Everstead Law, a Singapore boutique firm focused on corporate and transactional work, on 1 July.
Huang is a principal and co-founder of the firm with associate Yu Tong Loh and practice manager Theresa Lee. He said the firm, which was built around values of personal commitment, technical excellence and unwavering client relationships, would remain specialised and focused on corporate and transactional law.
“I have always believed that clients deserve more than a name on a letterhead … That is how I have always practised – and now I am building a firm around that approach,” Huang told Asia Business Law Journal.
Huang was the co-founder and director of Icon Law, the Singapore office of ZICO Law, where Loh also worked as a legal associate. Prior to co-founding Icon Law, he worked with various firms, including Morgan Lewis Stamford and RHTLaw Asia.
He has expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, M&A, employment matters and post-IPO corporate governance and compliance issues.
Everstead Law aims to provide large-firm expertise with the agility and responsiveness of a boutique. “This is not a reinvention. It is a continuation — of work I care deeply about and relationships I am proud to carry forward,” said Huang.
