Yang Jianyuan

Introduction

Yang Jianyuan is an expert in dealing with complex compliance issues involving domestic and cross-jurisdictional matters, especially in data compliance and anti-corruption compliance. In the area of data compliance, Yang has assisted different types of clients to establish, improve, or localise data compliance programs, especially for clients with global businesses, to establish risk prevention and control systems compatible with the requirements of various jurisdictions.

In the area of anticorruption, Yang has acted as the core counsel to lead her team to conduct internal investigations in many complex and difficult cases, dealing with legal issues including bribery, financial fraud and data falsification, and has extensive experience in dealing with government regulatory procedures. Before joining Haiwen, she worked at King & Wood Mallesons, the Beijing representative office of DLA Piper, and at Fangda Partners. Yang holds an LLB degree from Tsinghua University and an LLM degree from the University of Washington, and is admitted to practise in the PRC and the State of New York.
