Introduction

Wu Lintao has more than 12 years of legal practice experience, and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Business Environment Research Centre of Chongqing Lawyers Association. Since practising law, Wu has focused on the mainland capital market, Hong Kong and overseas capital markets, private equity and investment funds, M&A, corporate governance and more. During his practice, he has participated in a number of companies’ IPOs, as well as listed companies’ refinancing, and significant asset reorganisation projects. Wu’s practice covers a broad range of industries including environment, high-end manufacturing, automobiles, new energy and new materials, telecommunications and technology, healthcare & life sciences, consumer products, etc.

Wu is good at handling complex projects. With long-term practical experience and exquisite market perspicacity, as well as being able to understand clients’ core business demands, he has advised dozens of clients on their transaction under complex and changing business and regulatory environments.

In recent years, Wu has successfully provided effective consultations and legal services on many landmark projects such as: Range Technology’s significant asset reorganisation (the first backdoor listing case on the GEM, with an overall transaction scale of nearly RMB20 billion [USD2.77 billion], achieved the innovative application of multiple regulatory rules); Dencare (Chongqing) Oral Care IPO (the first batch of Shenzhen Stock Exchange registration listings); Significant asset reorganisation between Chongqing Beer and Carlsberg China; The bankruptcy reorganisation of Chongqing Iron & Steel in 2017; and the acquisition of a controlling stake of ST Chongqing Iron & Steel by industry funds established by Baowu Group, WL Ross, Luosi (US)/Sino-US Green Funds and China Merchants Group; Xi’an Tianhe Defence Technology IPO (as the first private military enterprise listed on the GEM); and a package deal of business and asset restructuring between China Aluminum Group high-end Manufacturing, Aluminum Corporation Of China, and Yunnan Aluminium.

Wu has been recommended by the Chambers Greater China Region Guide and the IFLR1000 China Regional Ranking List in 2022 and 2023.
