Wei Yidong

Introduction

Yidong Wei joined Zhong Lun Law Firm in 2005, and is a partner at the firm’s Beijing office. He specialises in real estate private equity fund and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Wei is keen on providing comprehensive solutions, especially resolving complex PRC legal issues in cross-border real estate transactions. He has ample experience advising fund managers and financial institutions on numerous transactions, including asset acquisition and disposition, formation of joint ventures, asset and property management, and built-to-suit lease, with a portfolio covering industrial, warehousing and logistics, data centre, office, retail, residential, hotel, leased housing and infrastructure projects. He is also a trailblazer in offshore REITs, and China quasi-REITs. He spearheaded the first cohort of China Real Estate Investment Trusts (C-REITs) pilot schemes.

Wei received his LLB degree from the University of International Relations and his LLM degree from Duke Law School. He often gives lectures at multiple educational and commercial institutions.
