Tejesh Chitlangi in Mumbai and Kavitha Vijay in Chennai have been promoted as joint managing partners at IC Universal Legal, a full-service law firm with a presence in seven cities across India.
Chitlangi has been with the firm for a decade in the Mumbai office, having played a key role in establishing the financial services legal regulatory team. He has represented marquee funds and global asset managers.
“Having already established a reputation for being the numero uno player in the financial services legal regulatory landscape, we will continue to provide world-class services to clients,” said Chitlangi.
Vijay, who is based in the Chennai office, has led the private equity and M&A firm since she joined IC Universal in 2006.
“In the coming years, our focus will be directed towards ensuring that we evolve as lawyers to meet the challenges arising from the changing landscape in legal requirements,” said Vijay.
Commenting on the promotions, founding partners Partha Mandal and Bheru Choudhary said the firm now had a 200-strong practice.
