Charles Russell Speechlys has transitioned from a foreign registered law firm in Hong Kong to a registered Hong Kong firm from 1 December 2020. Marking this new milestone, the firm also welcomed experienced litigator Ray Ng to the team.
The new move will enable the firm to practise both Hong Kong law and the laws of England and Wales under the Charles Russell Speechlys name.
The London-headquartered firm previously advised on foreign law in Hong Kong since September 2017 via a formal association with local law firm Jonathan Mok Legal. That partnership ended on 30 November.
