Introduction

Shane Li graduated from Northwestern University of Politics and Law with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2013, and from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Laws degree in 2015.

Li is a member of the International Investment Practice Research Committee of the Shanghai Law Association and is recognised by the Judicial Bureau of Jing’an District, Shanghai. He was included in the Top 20 Data Privacy Lawyers by Ace LegalTech in 2022.

Li’s practice areas are commercial dispute resolution, corporate compliance, and cross-border M&A. He has extensive professional experience and multiple representative cases, having practised as a lawyer since 2016. He has represented many large companies in complex litigation, commercial arbitration and compliance cases, and provided legal services to domestic and foreign clients in the areas of investment structure design, overseas enterprise venture, foreign investment project landing, and corporate governance. Since 2018, he has helped central enterprises, US-invested and Japanese multinational enterprises in conducting special training on domestic compliance, providing legal advice and basis for decision-making by corporate executives and data compliance departments, among others. He has assisted their domestic branches in setting up and improving organisations, including large compliance and risk-control, anti-fraud investigation, and data compliance departments.

Li has served clients in traditional automobile manufacturing, new energy and chemical industries. He has served many well-known companies in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the US, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Canada.
