Airbus, a European aircraft manufacturer, has reached a negotiated settlement with the insolvency administrator of East Star Airlines, the first airline to have been declared bankrupt in China. Run Ming Law Offices represented Airbus in the insolvency proceedings against East Star.
Privately owned East Star was based in Wuhan, and started operations in 2006.
In November 2005, it reportedly signed a letter of intent with Airbus for the purchase of 10 Airbus A320s, and a leasing deal with GE Commercial Aviation Services for a further 10 Airbus A320s.
