Former Perkins Coie partner I Bobby Majumder has joined Reed Smith as co-head of the firm’s India practice and managing partner of its office in Dallas, US. “The decision to move was, in part, based on a desire to practise in a firm that has a truly global footprint,” Majumder told India Business Law Journal.
Majumder was the Dallas office managing partner at Perkins Coie and the firmwide chair of the India practice.
“Perkins Coie is a fine US firm but they have no European presence and only a small presence in East Asia. Joining Reed Smith allows us to execute a wider variety of mandates for our clients going to India to do deals as well as Indian companies doing business all over the world,” he said.
Majumder will work in the firm’s global corporate practice alongside partners Ryan Preston and Lynwood Reinhardt, who join him from Perkins Coie.
