Meng Yetian

Introduction

Meng Yetian is an equity partner at Hui Zhong Law Firm. She earned her bachelor’s and masters’s degrees in law from Renmin University of China. Meng has more than 10 years of experience in legal practice, and has handled a variety of disputes over financial asset management, insurance, real estate and commercial contracts. Her particular expertise is in handling cases of disputes between enterprises and governments, such as public-private partnerships and administrative agreements.

Meng has handled a large number of complex civil and commercial cases before the Supreme People’s Court and provincial high courts, and has achieved successive wins, with some cases valued at more than RMB10 billion (USD1.39bn). A number of these cases have been included in the Gazette of the Supreme People’s Court, ?which have played a pioneering demonstration role? (does she mean “setting legal precedents”). Meng represented a case with a value of more than RMB10bn and

a broad societal impact, and was awarded as among China Business Law Journal’s “Deals of the Year” in 2021.

Prior to joining Hui Zhong, Meng worked at Tiantong Law Firm where she undertook a large number of difficult and complex cases, and was the firm’s youngest partner ever.

Meng has unique insights and has teaching experience in civil and commercial practice theory, courtroom skills, and litigation visualisation. She is also a researcher at the Case Teaching and Research Center of Renmin University of China Law School. Meng has long been sharing knowledge and insights with courts and procuratorates throughout the country, with provincial and municipal lawyers’ associations, major financial institutions, listed companies, and group companies. She has maintained her network with fellow lawyers, which has a very positive role in promoting young lawyers and setting up a distinctive personal image reputation.
