Linklaters recently advised three major capital market issuances in Hong Kong, raising a total value of US$5 billion long-term funding for the Hong Kong government, the Airport Authority of Hong Kong (AAHK) and Cathay Pacific.
In late January, Hong Kong-based capital market partners William Liu and Michael Ng led the team in advising the AAHK on its US$1.5 billion dual-tranche senior notes offering.
Liu, the firm’s Asia head of capital markets, also led the team advising Cathay Pacific on the airline’s HK$6.74 billion convertible bond issuance to strengthen its liquidity and working capital position.
In the same month, another team led by Hong Kong-based capital markets partner Gloria Cheung advised the underwriters on the Hong Kong government’s US$2.5 billion triple-tranche green bonds offering.
“Linklaters has been deeply rooted in Hong Kong for nearly 45 years,” said Liu. “We are grateful to have had the opportunities to participate in these high-profile transactions raising funds for the city and its key business sectors.”
