Introduction

Leo Hu, a partner at Dongwei Law Firm in Beijing, focuses on resolving complex civil and commercial disputes (litigation, arbitration and ADR), with expertise in corporate finance, M&A, private equity funds and venture capital, compliance and dispute resolution in the medical, pharmaceutical, and cultural and artistic sectors. He is a lecturer of the Lawyer Lecturers’ Mission for Western China, sponsored by the All China Lawyers Association (ACLA), and a member of the Youth Lawyers Committee (ACLA),and was twice elected to the Leading Young Lawyers Training Camp (ACLA). He is a member of the Foreign-Related Legal Talent Pool, a Vice Director of the Industry Cultural Construction Committee, and a member of the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association (BLA).

Hu serves as an arbitrator for the arbitration committees of Tianjin, Urumqi, Wuxi, Xiangtan, Zunyi, Beihai, Langfang, and Chengde. As an arbitrator, he has presided over, rendered arbitral awards on or mediated the resolution of numerous cases, and has accumulated a wealth of experience in arbitration and mediation.

As a lecturer of the Lawyer Lecturers’ Mission for Western China (ACLA), Hu was commissioned to train lawyers in central and western provinces and assist them with practising capabilities and skills, expanding their business, and managing risks. Drawing on years of practical experience, he has developed mature courses on the practice methodology and professional orientations of young lawyers. He often delivers lectures at provincial or municipal lawyers associations and universities aimed at the growth and development of young lawyers. His deep involvement in the work and duties of industry associations has contributed towards the advancement of the industry.
