Lai Yulong

Introduction

Lai Yulong specialises in commercial dispute resolution and has frequently represented clients in arbitration and litigation proceedings. Lai’s experience includes handling disputes relating to JV, international sale of goods, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements, service contracts, construction projects, and shareholder and corporate governing issues.

Lai has acted for well-known multinational corporations before various levels of courts across China in commercial disputes. He has extensive experience in handling arbitration cases administered by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration? suggest to verify what SCC stands for), and arbitration cases under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules. Lai represented the first case that applied the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules at the SCIA. A case he represented for the recognition and enforcement of a Hong Kong arbitral award by mainland courts was listed as a typical case by the Supreme People’s Court.

Lai is an arbitrator for the SCIA Jiangmen Centre (Jiangmen Arbitration Commission) and a mediator for the Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center. He serves as a member of the 11th International Investment Law Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association and has been selected into the cross-border lawyer talent pool of the Guangdong Lawyers Association. Lai was recognised as one of the top 30 “rising stars” by Legalband, and included in China Business Law Journal’s list of “rising stars”.
