JunZeJun Law Offices has added five new partners to its Beijing, Fuzhou and Shenyang teams, and two of them are China Business Law Journal awardees.

Zhang Mengchun and Du Yao have joined JunZeJun’s Beijing office. Liu Shanli has joined the firm’s Fuzhou office, while Li Zhuang and Song Qiong have joined the Shengyang branch, which opened in March.

A specialist in IP dispute cases, Zhang is particularly skilled at trademark protection. His signature cases include the trademark war between Beijing Tong Ren Tang and Tianjin Tong Ren Tang, as well as a trademark infringement case involving Starbucks VIA. Global corporates such as Jo Malone, Burger King and Victoria’s Secret have also been Zhang’s clients.

Previously, Zhang worked at Lung Tin Law Firm and Baker McKenzie FenXun.

Du, meanwhile, is a specialist in handling M&A, PE, capital market and monopoly cases. She advised Beijing Tong Ren Tang and Jointown Pharmaceutical Group on setting up a joint company, represented China Resources Zizhu Pharmaceutical’s new drug projects and participated in Baidu’s spin-off of its AI chip business Kunlun Chip.

Before building a career as an external attorney, Du worked as a judge for four years. She then joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in 2012 and became a partner after seven years.

Du was selected by China Business Law Journal as among the A-List 2023-24: Rising Stars recipients.

Liu, a former Jian Da Law Firm partner, is an awardee of China Business Law Journal’s Rising Stars 2023 and has more than 15 years of legal experience. He specialises in M&A, real estate and construction and dispute resolution. He also acted as a long-term legal counsel for many real estate companies.

Li, who heads the Shengyang office, was a former senior partner at TianTong Law Firm and has worked at the courts for 19 years. He has dealt with many dispute cases involving finance and real estate.

Song is a specialist in areas of company operation, investment and finance, insolvent liquidation, construction and real estate. He acted as legal counsel for many state enterprises including the machine manufacturer – Shenyang Machine Tool.

Before joining JunZeJun, Song was a partner in Fada Law Firm (now SGLA Law Firm) as well as Jun Ji Law Firm.
