Julia Zhang is a partner based in Haiwen & Partners’ Beijing office. Zhang has 14 years of practice experience in cross-border asset management, financial industry, private equity investment, foreign investment and general corporate.

Zhang has provided services ranging from equity and debt investment to establishment and investment of private equity and securities funds, asset management, establishment and investment of financial institutions, regulatory compliance, and general corporate matters, to well-known international and domestic clients including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS,

China International Capital Corporation (CICC), Taikang, China Life Insurance, Sun Life Canada, China Cinda, China Huarong Asset Management, Capital Group, Bain Capital, CIC, China Telecom, Capital Airports Holdings (CAH), China’s National Social Security Fund, China SDIC Gaoxin, Harvest, China Renaissance, Baidu Ventures, Hillhouse, Hony Capital, HOPU Investments, and Hongtai Aplus.

Zhang has assisted in HSBC’s establishment of the first foreign controlled securities JV in China, Goldman Sachs’ 100% acquisition of Goldman Sachs Gao Hua Securities Company and its subsequent restructuring, China Telecom’s establishment of a JV with a telecommunications carrier in the Philippines, CAH’s establishment of an airport operation JV in Colombia and its successful exit, and CICC’s establishment of a fintech JV with Tencent.
