Introduction

John Zhou is a partner at East & Concord Partners, and serves as an arbitrator at the Tianjin Arbitration Commission and the Hainan International Arbitration Court, a mediator at the International Commercial Mediation Center of the Hainan International Arbitration Court and the Shenzhen Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center.

Zhou specialises in commercial litigation, arbitration and complex business dispute resolution. His clients include Shenzhen China Merchants Ping’an Asset Management, China Merchants Bank International Capital Management (Shenzhen), China Cinda Asset Management Shenzhen Branch, China Orient Asset Management (International), Haitong Securities, Vanho Securities, Morgan Stanley, FountainVest Partners (Asia), China Datang Corporation, China Datang Overseas Investment, Air China, China Eastern, China Clean Development Mechanism Fund, Bank of Beijing, Hebei Expressway Group Limited, Hasee, Paradise Group, and Golden Concord Holdings. He has represented clients in many arbitration cases before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and other local arbitration institutions. He has also acted as an attorney in second trial and re-trial cases before the Supreme People’s Court and provincial high courts, and has accumulated rich experience in solving complex commercial disputes.

In 2022, Zhou was awarded the “Client Choice: Top 15 Versatile Practitioners” by the international legal rating agency Legalband, which also recognised him as among the “Power List: Top 15 Litigators” and rated as one of the top lawyers in litigation in 2023.
