Ji Jun

Introduction

Ji Jun graduated from Peking University, the University of Tokyo and Harvard Law School. He is qualified to practice law in China and New York, and is fluent in Chinese, English and Japanese. He is deeply engaged in foreign-related legal issues in China, Japan, Europe and the US, specialising in litigation and arbitration, foreign-related dispute resolution, intellectual property, foreign direct investment and M&A. He currently serves as an arbitrator at the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and has been awarded many honours from Managing IP, Benchmark Litigation, ALB, Legalband and China Business Law Journal. He has been selected multiple times for the “Foreign-related Lawyer Talent Pool List” of the Beijing Lawyers Association, and provided pro bono legal services for the Beijing Winter Olympics as a foreign-related lawyer in 2022.

Having devoted himself to the legal profession for 30 years, Ji has practiced law in firms across China, Japan and the US and became a founding partner of a law firm, from which he gained abundant experience in law practice and law firm management. In terms of litigation and arbitration, especially in IPR, he has gained extensive experience and outstanding achievements, and has provided professional, high-quality and international-standard legal services which helped solve problems of Chinese and foreign clients. Having been deeply engaged in the legal field, he has a strong foundation in legal theory and a wealth of practical experience in handling legal cases.

Ji specialises in foreign-related legal issues with an international perspective and pluralistic way of thinking. He has many internationally renowned high-quality clients such as 3M China, Eli Lilly and Company, NEC, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujifilm Holdings Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Sumitomo Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Asahi Kasei Corporation, AGC Inc., etc.

Ji’s fluency in Chinese, Japanese and English has allowed him to provide daily legal consulting services for large Chinese and foreign companies in the areas of litigation and arbitration, compliance, etc., helping them solve practical problems in major IPR infringement litigation cases.

In October 2021, Ji was granted the “Ambassador’s Commendation” by Tarumi Hideo, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Japan in China, in recognition of “his long-standing support for Japanese companies in China and outstanding contribution to promoting mutual understanding and friendly relations between Japan and China through his legal work.”
