Duo counsels on USD845m Axis Energy-Brookfield cleantech JV

IndusLaw and Trilegal counsel Axis Energy and Brookfield Asset Management, respectively, to establish a cleantech joint venture via their subsidiaries in a strategic partnership valued at INR72.8 billion (USD845 million).

The subsidiaries are Axis Energy Ventures India and Pine Valley Holdings (DIFC) in the joint venture, named ABC Cleantech, is exclusively dedicated to the development, ownership and operation of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar and hybrid, with a target capacity of 1GW.

Partners Ravi Kumar and Revathy Murali led the IndusLaw transaction team with the assistance of senior associates Suraj Soni and Aditi Rani, and associates Nishi Bharatiya, Anurag Prasad and Aryan Mohindroo. Partner Deepak Chowdhury from the energy and projects team also contributed.

Trilegal partners Clarence Anthony and Nayantara Nag led the team for Brookfield.

Other Trilegal attorneys who supported the deal team included senior associates Paulose Abraham, Ishan Javid and Shouri Bhat, as well as associates Shanika Bhowmick, Archita Prawasi, Sanjeev Ramakrishnan, Neha Giridharan and Rishabh Garodia.
