Introduction

Huang Hui is the managing partner of Huang & Huang Co Law Firm, a “Top 10 Guangzhou Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters”, a member of Ministry of Justice’s list of the nation’s “Top 1,000 Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters” , an Expert Adviser on civil and administrative cases to the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, an Outstanding Individual in Foreign-related Rule of Law Development of Guangdong Province, a member of the Rule of Law Expert Committee of Guangdong Province, a Lecturer of Master of Laws (International Shipping Law) at South China Normal University and a r esearcher at the International Shipping Law and Policy Research Centre , S ecretary-G eneral of the Maritime Law Committee of the All China Lawyers Association, head of the Maritime and Aviation Law Committee of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association, head of the Marine Industry Development Expert Panel of the Legal Advisory Committee on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Comprehensive Co-operation, and an arbitrator at multiple arbitration institutions, including CIETAC, CMAC, SCIA and the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission.

In full-time practice since 2002 specialising in all aspects of maritime law and international trade, Huang has handled numerous complex, influential and typical cases, including a number of landmark cases in the history of maritime judicial practice and foreign-related legal services in China.
