Guo Jun

Introduction

Guo Jun worked at Pingfan Law Firm in Jiangsu from 1996 to 2011. In October 2011, due to the firm’s merger with W&H Law Firm, he became a senior partner at W&H’s Shanghai office.

In 2020, Guo was named the professional and technical top talent in Changning District, Shanghai – the latest in a long line of professional awards. In 2001, he was named outstanding debater, winning third place in the team’s event in the first Jiangsu Lawyer Debate Competition. He was named Nantong’s outstanding lawyer in 2001, and outstanding lawyer of Jiangsu Province in 2010. In 2013, he was the outstanding lawyer of Changning District, Shanghai; in 2015, he was rated as a first-class lawyer by the Shanghai High Evaluation Committee. And, in 2018, he won selection on the young legal talents database of Shanghai.

During the past 27 years, Guo has been committed to business research and practice in the fields of investment and financing, cross-border and capital market legal services. He is proficient in English and has served as a legal consultant for more than 40 clients in the Yangtze River Delta region. He has handled hundreds of commercial non-litigation, litigation and arbitration cases with significant regional impact, especially in the areas of investments, and mergers and acquisitions. He has served more than 10 state-owned enterprises, listed companies, banks, trusts and financial leasing, financial leasing companies, well-known funds and other institutions.

Guo also acts as deputy to the 17th People’s Congress of Changning District, Shanghai; director of the 12th Shanghai Lawyers Association; president of Chongchuan District Chamber of Commerce of Nantong City; vice president of Shanghai Xinhua Road Street Chamber of Commerce; arbitrator of more than 10 arbitration centres such as the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre and Shanghai Arbitration Commission; part-time professor/master supervisor of Tongji University, East China Normal University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; external director of Tongji Holdings; and an independent director of three listed companies.
