Introduction

Gai Bingbing is a partner at Commerce & Finance Law Offices in Beijing. Before joining Commerce & Finance, he successively served as a lawyer, principal lawyer and senior lawyer in the bankruptcy department of King & Wood Mallesons, and as a partner in the bankruptcy group of JunHe. Gai has long been dedicated to and deeply involved in the fields of bankruptcy reorganisation, pre-reorganisation, debt restructuring, enterprise bailout and risk mitigation, as well as special opportunity investment mergers and acquisitions for large domestic enterprise groups and listed companies.

As a bankruptcy administrator or government and enterprise adviser, Gai has presided over a number of bankruptcy reorganisation or debt restructuring projects that have had significant impact at home and abroad, involving steel, energy, smelting, ports, machinery, electronics, agriculture, clothing and other industries. His representative projects include the pre-reorganisation and bankruptcy reorganisation projects of listed companies such as Henan Xinye Textile Co, Henan Huaying Agriculture Development Company, Baota Industry Co, Fushun Special Steel Co, as well as the bankruptcy reorganisation and debt restructuring projects of non-listed companies such as Fangyuan Copper Industry, Dandong Port Group, Baota Petrochemical Group, Xinfei Electronic Co, Northeast Special Steel Group Co, etc.

As a legal adviser representing reorganisation investors, financial institutions, debtors and actual controllers, he has presided over or participated in bankruptcy reorganisation projects of multiple companies. The projects he has presided over have been repeatedly recognised by the Supreme People’s Court, high courts and relevant media as “classic bankruptcy reorganisation cases” and “outstanding transactions of the year”, and have a total debt scale exceeding RMB100 billion (USD14 billion). He has been one of the outstanding young lawyer representatives in the field of bankruptcy reorganisation in recent years.
