The Federation of Indian Corporate Lawyers (FICL) took part in a webinar titled “Dispute Solution or Alternative Dispute Resolution” organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 16 November. The FICL’s founder and CEO, Ashok Sharma, along with the honorary president SB Mitra, shared their views at the event.
The webinar was held as a part of the annual Legal Services Month by the CII. The session was co-chaired by Anand Desai, managing partner at DSK Legal in Mumbai, and Manjula Chawla, partner at Phoenix Legal in New Delhi.
Other panelists at the webinar were New Delhi-based partners Vasanth Rajasekaran, of Phoenix Legal, Arush Khanna, of Numen Law Office, Lalit Bhasin, chairman of task force on legal services at the CII, and Vikkas Mohan, executive director at the CII.
The panelists shared their perspectives on the myriad of options available under alternative dispute resolution mechanisms of conciliation and mediation. The strengths, weaknesses and nuances of the Draft Mediation Bill, 2021, were also discussed.
