Clifford Chance appointed Singapore managing partner Geraint Hughes as its new Asia Pacific regional managing partner, succeeding Peter Charlton.
Hughes is currently head of the firm’s Asia Pacific energy and resources group and has been serving as Singapore managing partner since 2010. He will relocate to Hong Kong in June and take up the regional leadership role in September.
Clifford Chance also recently rejigged its top management in China. Terence Foo and Tim Wang were appointed co-managing partners of the firm’s mainland China offices.
Foo heads the firm’s private equity practice in China. He is experienced in advising multinational clients on private and public acquisitions, and joint ventures. He also specializes in overseas acquisitions in a wide range of sectors. Wang is an expert in capital markets and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and advises large Chinese companies on their outbound investments and overseas listings.
The pair will take over responsibilities from Stephen Harder, who retires as the firm’s China managing partner after 14 years at the helm.
