Introduction
Wu Yuru possesses an overseas educational background, having studied as a visiting scholar at Western Carolina University in the US and obtaining a master’s degree in international business and trade law from The University of Manchester in the UK. She completed an internship at Tianlu Legal Consulting Firm in the UK and has been practising as a lawyer for 10 years. Since 2019, she has served as the director of Skyline Law Firm(Chengdu).
Wu is also involved in social welfare initiatives, holding multiple public service positions such as Chengdu Civil Public Welfare Ambassador, member of the Sichuan Provincial Youth Federation’s 15th committee and the Chengdu Youth Federation’s 14th committee. She is also a member of the 10th Sichuan Provincial Lawyers Association’s public legal service committee, the 8th Chengdu Lawyers Association’s digital technology and artificial intelligence professional committee and strategic development working committee, dedicated to promoting the advancement of the rule of law and the development of public welfare.
Wu is proficient in litigation, excels in various communication methods such as mediation and negotiation to maximise clients’ interests, and provides comprehensive legal support. She has long focused on areas including commercial litigation, dispute resolution and non-performing asset disposal, and serves as the long-term legal adviser for several large enterprises and state-owned enterprises.
Wu’s representative achievements in multiple fields include: issuing a legal opinion for an RMB2 billion (USD274.1 million) special bond issuance by a construction investment company in Qijiang district, Chongqing; successfully representing more than 150 cases of commodity housing pre-sale contract disputes in a group case in a Chengdu residential community; serving as the defence counsel in a financial case involving RMB1.1bn of illegal public deposit absorption, achieving a favourable judgment; acting as the second-instance defence counsel in an immediate execution death penalty case at the Sichuan Provincial High People’s Court, successfully commuting the death sentence to a suspended death sentence; acting as the second-instance defence counsel in another immediate execution death penalty case at the Sichuan Provincial High People’s Court, resulting in the case being remanded for retrial; and representing multiple companies as plaintiffs in lawsuits demanding payment for construction projects, all of which were supported by the court and resulted in the recovery of nearly RMB100m in total.
