Introduction
Su Xiaowei, a partner at the Hangzhou office of Grandall Law Firm, is the deputy director of Grandall Group’s construction engineering and real estate professional committee. She is the secretary general of the Zhejiang Bar Association’s 11th real estate professional committee, the deputy director of the 10th Hangzhou Bar Association and a member of its publicity and public relations committee. She is also a housing construction department director of the Hangzhou Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce Lawyers Advisory Group. Su is a practical tutor at the Master of Law Education Center of Zhejiang Gongshang University.
In 2024, Su was named in the “Lexis Nexis 40 Under 40” Greater China list, as LegalOne’s “Top 15 Client’s Trusted Lawyers in China” for construction engineering and real estate, and was among the “Outstanding Lawyers & Law Firms”. Su led the development of legal service products for commercial housing sales and delivery, which won first prize in the second Grandall Legal Service Products Competition.
Since 2011, she has focused on legal services in the real estate industry, and has been trusted by clients for her professionalism, diligence and ability to solve complex legal issues from multiple perspectives. She has provided legal counseling services for well-known real estate companies such as Yuexiu, China Merchants, Greenland, Sino-Ocean and Jinmao. She serves as a permanent legal adviser to more than 20 real estate companies.
Su’s practice covers the whole industry chain of real estate, especially co-operative development, full life cycle risk control, industrial park investment, sales and delivery risk prevention, crisis management, and supply chain crisis management of upstream and downstream enterprises. She has undertaken many litigation cases with a disputed amount of more than RMB100 million (USD13.7m), including a series of disputes over Hangzhou Gold Investment’s real-estate investments, and over construction contract disputes by China Overseas Construction. She has also provided non-litigation special or litigation legal services for Evergrande, China Overseas, Powerlong, Hang Lung, Yuzhou, and others, which have all achieved good results.
Su conceived of a “law+” approach, advocating that the best legal service should be a composite of services relevant to client needs, such as “law + customer service”, “law + management”, etc. She is committed to building a real estate legal community to open up the industry service, and has organised a series of activities such as a “real estate legal elite thought collection” in Zhejiang region.
