Jia Mengmeng

Introduction

Jia Mengmeng earned her Master’s degree in economic law, with tax law as her research area, after graduating from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. Jia has specialised in tax law for more than 10 years and has served as a member of legal advisory teams for more than 30 tax authorities, such as the State Taxation Administration, Beijing’s tax service system (including the Beijing Municipal Tax Service, the tax services of various districts and counties, tax branches and various tax inspection bureaus) and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Tax Service. She has bidirectional experience in providing tax-related legal services for both tax authorities and taxpayers.

Jia serves as a senior partner at Beijing Gaopeng Law Firm. She is the deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Lawyers Association’s fiscal and tax law professional committee, a member of the China Law Society’s Economic Law Research Association, the Beijing Cultural and Entertainment Law Society’s fiscal and tax law committee, and the Beijing Chaoyang District Lawyers Association’s fiscal and tax law business research committee. Jia possesses extensive knowledge in the theoretical research field of tax law and has been invited on multiple occasions to give keynote speeches in forums hosted by the China Law Society’s Tax Law Research Society.

Jia was honoured in the “2024 Legalband Power List: Top 15 Administrative Law Lawyers” for her excellent performance in handling many difficult and complex cases in the field of tax administration. She has also obtained her clients’ approval as a defence lawyer in cases involving the false issuance of VAT special invoices, defrauding export tax refunds, tax evasion and the illegal purchase of invoices.
