David Lin

Introduction

David Lin has a combined educational background in engineering and law. His business areas include intellectual property, antitrust & competition, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), healthcare & life sciences. He provides intellectual property services for well-known internet and high-tech enterprises such as ZTE, Xiaomi, Vivo, Meituan, Kingsoft, Kuaishou, Niu, etc. He also provides comprehensive intellectual property services for the Ministry of Transport, Peking University, Qilu Pharmaceutical, YRPG, Pingan Group and other national ministries and large commercial institutions.

In 2015, he represented Xiaomi in winning a case against Qihoo regarding jurisdiction objection, which was selected in the Annual Top 10 IP Creative Cases by Beijing courts. In 2018, Lin’s case, the Xiaomi v Li reputation right dispute, was selected into the top 10 typical cases of reputation of the Primary People’s Court of Haidian District. The first reverse behaviour preservation of Xinghao Plastic’s patent case was also selected as one of the Top 10 Typical IP Cases of Technology in the Supreme People’s Court.

Lin was recognised by CLECSS as an Outstanding Young Lawyer with Special Recommendation in 2017. From 2018 to 2025, he was consecutively listed in China Business Law Journal’s A-List, and was also awarded in its Visionaries awards.

He was consecutively selected as one of the Top Ranked Lawyers (Antitrust & Competition, IP: Litigation) by LEGALBAND from 2018 to 2025. In 2024, he was ranked among LEGALBAND’s Client Choice: Top 15 Competition Lawyers and Top 30 Best of the Best China Lawyers. From 2024 to 2025, he was consecutively recognised by Chambers Greater China Region Guide (Competition/Antitrust, IP: Litigation) and Asialaw Profiles (Intellectual Property). In 2025, he was honoured as China Antitrust Lawyer of the Year by GRCD.
