Introduction

Nihmat has handled a number of high-profile and complex bankruptcy restructuring and distressed M&A cases that are influential both at home and abroad. She has served as bankruptcy administrator or legal counsel for bankruptcy administrators, investors, debtors, creditors or shareholders in projects such as: Sun Edison; China Solar; the consolidated bankruptcy restructuring of Fengli Group and its 28 affiliates; the consolidated bankruptcy restructuring of Zhoushan Haozhou Group and its 11affliates (one of the 10 influential cases of the year 2019 by the High People’s Court of Zhejiang); the consolidated bankruptcy restructuring of Shandong Quanlin Group and its 22 affiliates; Jiangsu Alcom Industrial’s (parent company of listed company Alcom Technology) bankruptcy restructuring; Shanghai Gangtai Real Estate’s bankruptcy liquidation; and Bestway Marine & Energy Technology’s bankruptcy restructuring.

Nihmat also served as a key member of the bankruptcy administrator in restructuring and liquidation cases for listed companies and large corporations such as: Dongfu; Changjiang; Shenzhen Shenxin Taifeng; and Sichuan Golden Summit. Nihmat has provided comprehensive legal services for influential clients including: China Great Wall Asset Management; Avenue Capital; China Cinda Assets; CDH; China Resources Group; CHTC; China Resources Asset; the Export-Import Bank of China; China Solar Energy; Jinergy Group; AVIC Trust; Ping An Trust; SPD Bank; Industrial Bank; Ernst & Young, etc.

She is committed to exchanges and co-operation with bankruptcy practitioners in various jurisdictions including Hong Kong, the US and Australia.

As an initial practitioner in the bankruptcy field and one of the lawyers who grew up simultaneously with Bankruptcy Law, Nihmat first expanded the conception of “non-performing assets” from “non-performing loan” to various kinds of distressed assets. Her team has extensive practical experience, as well as overseas learning experience, in areas related to dealing with distressed assets, such as reorganisation and restructuring, M&A, capital market, and dispute settlement.
