Introduction

Zhou Wei holds an LLM from Peking University and an LLB from China University of Political Science and Law. Zhou is an equity partner in the Dispute Resolution Department of Zhong Lun Law Firm, and serves as a Council Member of the China Securities Law Research Association.

Zhou focuses her practice on securities compliance, securities litigation, securities-related criminal inspection and litigation, and capital markets dispute resolution, and is among the earliest practitioners in China to specialise in securities compliance. Zhou provides comprehensive legal services to capital markets participants including listed companies, securities firms and funds, and has successfully handled a wide range of complex and high-profile matters involving information disclosure violations, securities misrepresentation, insider trading, fund “rat trading”, market manipulation, corporate control disputes, and valuation adjustment mechanism (VAM) disputes.

Zhou has represented clients in a number of landmark cases including China’s first administrative settlement case in the securities sector, the first illegal over-the-counter margin financing case, the first ETF market manipulation case, and the first market manipulation case involving the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ). Several of the cases she handled were selected as “China’s Top 10 Influential Litigations”, “Top 10 Commercial Cases of Chinese Courts”, and “Top 10 Civil, Administrative and State Compensation Cases of the People’s Courts”. Through these representations, Zhou has assisted clients in effectively mitigating legal and regulatory risks, and in fully safeguarding their lawful interests.

In recognition of her outstanding professional capabilities and accomplishments, Zhou has received numerous industry accolades, including being named “Woman Lawyer of the Year” by ALB in 2025, one of ALB’s “China Top 15 Litigators” in 2024, and a Recommended Lawyer in Dispute Resolution (Asia-Pacific, Greater China) by The Legal 500 in 2023. Zhou has also been honoured as a “Rising Star Lawyer” by China Business Law Journal, selected as one of LexisNexis’s “40 Under 40 Elites”, and named an ALB “Top 15 Rising Lawyer in China”, earning broad client recognition and industry acclaim for her professional and efficient legal services.
