Introduction
Zhang Haomiao practises in the fields of IP and dispute resolution. He holds a Juris Doctor in US law and a Master of Chinese law from Peking University, complemented by a computer science background and qualification as a patent agent. Zhang specialises in delivering high-value “law + technology” solutions covering patents and standard essential patents, copyright and unfair competition matters, trademark and brand protection, data and information security, AI and algorithmic governance, trade secrets and antitrust. His work spans the internet, telecommunications, big data, semiconductors, gaming and e-sports, cross-border e-commerce, new energy, advanced chemicals, smart manufacturing, biopharma and broad consumer sectors. Cases he has represented have repeatedly been selected among the “Top 10 Annual Cases Advancing the Rule of Law in the New Era”, the “Top 10 Cases of the People’s Courts”, the “Top 10 IP Cases of the Chinese Courts”, the “Top 10 Typical Internet Cases”, the “Top 10 Typical Cross-Enforcement Cases”, and the “Top 10 Influential Cases of the Intellectual Property Court of the Supreme People’s Court”.
Zhang is also highly experienced in commercial dispute resolution and is renowned for handling complex matters and commanding courtroom proceedings. He has represented a diverse range of Chinese and international clients, including government agencies, foreign-invested enterprises, financial institutions and technology companies, in landmark cases covering corporate equity and deadlock resolution, trusts and funds, securities and financing, land and forest rights, and real estate and construction projects. His work spans every procedural stage–first instance, second instance, retrial, civil protest and enforcement. Many intractable disputes have been reversed in his clients’ favour through the Supreme People’s Court retrial proceedings or procuratorial civil protests by his efforts.
Zhang has been designated a “foreign-related rule-of-law talent” under Guangdong Province’s special support programme for high-level talents and selected as a “Guangdong Leading Foreign-Related Lawyer”. For consecutive years, he has been honoured by leading international legal directories.
