Introduction

Echo Liu is a Shanghai-based partner at Grandway Law Offices and serves as the convener of the firm’s financial and investment business group. She holds several social positions including arbitrator at the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, and practical mentor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Specialising in private equity, investment and financing, fund dispute resolution, foreign investment, and cross-border M&A, she has advised over 100 state-owned and foreign funds on numerous cross-border transactions and arbitration cases. In 2023, she was entrusted by the Asset Management Association of China to conduct key research on private equity fund share transfers, producing a corresponding report. Her expertise is consistently recognised by leading international legal guides such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, asialaw, IFLR1000, China Law & Practice and LegalOne, from whom she has received multiple awards.
