Introduction

Alex Zhang is a senior partner at AllBright Law Offices, serving as convenor of the Aerospace Industry Committee and Vice Chairman of the Foreign Legal Affairs Special Committee of Chengdu Lawyers Association. With over a decade of experience, Zhang specialises in cross-border trade, civil aviation, cross-border investment and financing, and real estate construction. He has provided comprehensive legal services for over 300 aircraft, 400 engines, and 200 APUs throughout their entire lifecycle, including aircraft acquisition, operating leases, finance leases, lease structure conversions, aircraft asset package transfers and financing, hourly rate maintenance packages, T&M repair services, lease terminations, and aircraft substitutions.

Zhang has also been instrumental in several landmark cross-border joint venture projects, including a pioneering aircraft maintenance and technology introduction project, a composite material maintenance joint venture, and a global aircraft full lifecycle service project – the world’s first such project operated by an aircraft manufacturer outside Europe. This project, recognised as a “Green Development Demonstration Case” under the “Air Silk Road” initiative, filled a critical gap in China’s aviation industry’s end-of-life chain and received extensive coverage from major media outlets.
