Introduction

Nafisa Nihmat is partner at Zhonglun Law Firm, where she specializes in bankruptcies, restructurings and distressed mergers and acquisitions. Among her main practices are bankruptcy reorganization and liquidation, acquisition and disposal of non-performing assets, out-of-court debt restructuring and pre-packaged restructuring, debt crisis public relations for enterprises and institutions. She is committed to exchanges and cooperation with bankruptcy law insiders in various jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, the US and Australia, on the issues of bankruptcy restructuring. Nafisa also served as a key member of bankruptcy administrator in restructuring and liquidation cases for listed companies and large corporations, such as ST Dongfu, ST Changjiang, ST Shenzhen Shenxin Taifeng, ST Sichuan Golden Summit, among others. She provided comprehensive legal services to some influential clients including CDH, China Resources Group, CHTC, China Great Wall Asset Management, China Resources Asset, The Export-Import Bank of China, Avenue Capital, China Solar Energy, Jinergy Group, AVIC Trust, PING AN Trust, SPD Bank, Industrial Bank, Ernst & Young, etc. As an initial practitioner in the field of bankruptcy and as one of the lawyers who grow up simultaneously with China’s Enterprise Bankruptcy Law, Nafisa first expanded the concept of non-performing assets from non-performing loans of banks to various kinds of distressed assets.
